COACHING COURSES 2010/2011 SEASON
Mid Canterbury Cricket are offering the following coaching courses this season.
MILO HAVE-A-GO:
Date: Tuesday 14th September 3.30-5.00pm
Venue: Ashburton College Gym
No Charge
This course is designed for the parent, teacher or volunteer involved in organizing and coaching 5-7 year old boys and girls playing for their school or club. It is not necessary to have a cricket background.
MILO KIWI:
Date: Thursday 16th September 3.30-5.00pm
Venue: Ashburton College Gym
No Charge
This course is designed for the parent, teacher or volunteer involved in organizing and coaching 7-10 year old boys and girls playing for their school or club. It is not necessary to have a cricket background.
COACHING A CRICKET TEAM:
Dates: Wed 20th and Wed 27th October 2010 5pm-8pm
Venue: Ashburton Domain Oval.
Cost: $20
This course is designed for the parent, teacher, volunteer or coach who is involved in coaching 10-18 years olds at primary schools, secondary schools or clubs. It is mainly concerned with 11-a-side coaching.
This year the course will be run differently, in that Nigel Marsh, CoachForce Manager for Canterbury Cricket will take a 1 hour training session on the 20th October, with coaches observing. There will be some theory and discussion to follow. The following week the coaches will get the opportunity to take a training session (or part thereof), followed by some theory and discussion. Following this course you will receive a coaching a cricket team certificate from New Zealand cricket, which is equivalent to an England Cricket Board Level 1.

Holiday Coaching - July 2010
Coaching and games will be held for the following age groups at the Ashburton Domain Oval
(end of Park St) during the last week of the Winter Holidays.
Winter training
You are invited to attend training on the dates listed below.
These training/coaching sessions are an integral part of Mid Canterbury Cricket Associations representative selection process and off-season training. The sessions are geared towards offering important skill development and providing coaches with thorough player knowledge. Your attendance is therefore desired at these sessions.

There will be a charge of $5 per session payable on the evening. Please bring bats and gloves for Ashburton College gym sessions and all cricket equipment for Indoor net sessions. It would be appreciated if clean, soft-soled footwear were worn for all venues.

These notes have been put together to assist school/club coaches to focus on the development of the basics of the Year 6 to 8 cricketers in Canterbury.
Batting
